Established in Plymouth in 1965 as Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd, Princess Yachts was bought in 1981 by South African businessman Graham J. Beck. Marine Projects became Princess Yachts International PLC in 2001. In June 2008, Beck sold a 75% stake in the business to French businessman Bernard Arnault’s investment group, L Capital 2 FCPR, a division of LVMH, for 200 million euros/pounds. The LVMH group includes over 60 international luxury brands, including: Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, De Beers, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Krug.
Princess Yachts operates in 119 countries and employs over 3,000 people worldwide, whilst their shipyards cover a combined area of over 1.1 million square feet.
Nimbus Boats is a motorboat manufacturer in Gothenburg and with its main production in Mariestad.
Nimbus Group previously owned, in addition to Nimbus, the boat brands Ryds, Storebro and Paragon Yachts. Following a bankruptcy in 2012, the company has resurfaced but now owns only Paragon Yachts in addition to the parent brand.
Chris-Craft Corporation is an American manufacturer of recreational powerboats that is based in Sarasota, Florida. Since June 4, 2018, the company has been owned by Winnebago Industries, an American manufacturer of recreational vehicles.
Chris-Craft Corporation is at least the fourth iteration of the iconic boat building company. The original company, Chris-Craft Boats, was founded in the late 19th century by Christopher Columbus Smith (1861–1939) in Michigan. It became famous for its mahogany-hulled powerboats from the 1920s through the 1950s. It was succeeded by Chris-Craft Industries and then Murray Chris-Craft before becoming Chris-Craft Corporation.
Founded in 1989 in the province of Milan, within a few years, Sacs established itself as sector leader in the production and marketing of inflatables for pleasure boating.
